Franc-N-Stein

Description: A Belgian Flanders Ale that is barrel aged for 18 months in used Cabernet barrels and uses bacteria/wild yeast such as Brettanomyces, Pediococcus, and Lactobacillus.  The beer boasts flavors such as cherry, stonefruit, sherry, and raisin flavors that are tart and refreshing.

Bruja-Ha

Description: An English Standard Bitter brewed with English hops including Goldings and Fuggles.  This beer has an earthy and malty flavor that boasts a smooth finish. 

Bridge Street IPA

Description: A Belgian IPA brewed with American hops that has all the characteristics of a Belgian Abbey Ale mixed with the classic west coast hops to give this beer a piney/grapefruit flavor. This is named for the iconic cobblestone street in downtown Danville. 

Witching Hour- 60 minute IPA (English Style)

ABV: 5.5% IBU: 50%

Description: Classic, balanced, and flavorful, this English IPA is less hop-forward than its American counterpart, offering a more nuanced interplay between malt and hops. Perfect for sipping and savoring! The name comes from the one hour where one could still purchase beer after the midnight shift was over at Dan River Mills. 

Craghead Cream Ale- Irish Cream Ale

ABV: 5% IBU: 25

Description: This is an easy-drinking, approachable ale with a perfect blend of malt sweetness and a subtle hop finish. This is an ale version of the American Lager Style. Contrary to its name and popular belief, there is no cream or lactose present in this style. The beer is named after Dr. George Craghead who served on the first governing body in Danville, Virginia. In addition, it is the maiden name of the “Grandmother of All Witches.” 

Schoolfield Saison- Belgian Style

ABV: 6.5% IBU: 20

Description: A quintessential farmhouse ale, this Saison is bursting with character yet remains highly drinkable. Pours a hazy golden hue with bright notes of peppery spice, clove, and subtle earthy funk with a touch of fruit esters such as pear and citrus. The name gives a nod to Schoolfield Village, a neighborhood where employees of Dan River Mills resided. 

Gainer’s Gose- Sour Ale

ABV: 4.9 % IBU: 8

Description: This is a kettle soured wheat ale that pours a light, pale golden hue. Delightfully tart with notes of lemon zest and coriander with saltiness that balances out the sourness. A unique, refreshing beer perfect for warm weather day drinking! 

Vienna Lager

ABV: 5 IBU: 17%

Description: A classic well-balanced lager that is both flavorful and easy to drink. It has toasted malt character and a clean finish. 

Old 97- Oatmeal Stout

ABV: 5% IBU: 25

Description: A rich and robust dark ale with a smooth and velvety finish. The flavor has notes of roasted maltiness followed by layers of coffee, cocoa, and a bit of earthy hop bitterness. The name is a nod to the famous “Wreck of Old 97” in Danville, Virginia in 1903, which is also the inspiration of other stories and songs. 

Orange You Glad You Didn’t Say Witch- IPA

Description: A refreshing and aromatic IPA that highlights the synergy between citrus-forward hops and orange peel. Its juicy, zesty profile makes it an ideal choice for hop lovers seeking a bright, flavorful twist. It is brewed with orange peel and Citra hops. 

Funky in the Fringe- Oud Bruin

Description: A Flanders-style Brown Ale aged 12 months in Chardonnay barrels. A sophisticated and multi-dimensional beer that showcases the interplay between malty sweetness, barrel character, and a refreshing acidity. Perfect for sipping slowly and savoring its evolving complexity. A balance of sweet, tart, and earthy. 

Danville Lager- Munich Helles

ABV: 5.1% IBU: 16

Description: A classic, well-balanced lager that highlights malt sweetness without being cloying. Clean and malt-forward, showcasing flavors of fresh bread and light honey. The hop presence is delicate, adding a gentle floral or grassy bitterness that supports the malt without overpowering it. 

Mountain Valley Red IPA- American IPA

ABV: 6.7% IBU: 61

Description: A wet hopped (fresh, whole coned hops)  IPA using locally sourced Cascade hops from Mountain Valley Hops in Axton, Virginia. A robust and flavorful IPA that combines the boldness of American hops with the richness of a malt-driven red ale. Perfect for those seeking a hoppy beer with a bit of malty depth and warmth. 

Jacked Up Ginger- Cream Ale

ABV: 10% IBU: 40

Description: An interesting twist on a Cream Ale. Light bodied and pale in hue, brewed with fresh ginger and aged for 3 months in Jack Daniels barrels. 

Smokin’ Shoes- Smoked Weizenbock

ABV: 6% IBU: 30

Description: A strong, malty German Wheat beer with hints of sweetness and spice. Brewed with smoked wheat malt, this gives the beer a hint of smokiness that pairs well with grilled meats and bacon! 

Mole Brown- Brown Ale

ABV: 4.8% IBU: 23

Description: A brown ale with roasty maltiness and slight hop bitterness. Brewed with chili pepper and jalapeño to give it that spice inspired by the savory, rich mole sauce often used in classic Mexican cuisine. 

Witch Haze Ale- Hefeweizen

Description: A traditional German wheat beer characterized by its pale, hazy color and pronounced flavors of banana and clove from the Bavarian yeast. A delicious and refreshing beer. We brew this beer once a year in the spring, which makes it perfect for warmer days. 

Wit-cha-ma-call-it- Witbier

Description: A light, cloudy, pale golden in color Belgian wheat ale with notes of coriander, citrus, and herbs. This beer is very refreshing and slightly tart. 

Berlinerweiss

ABV: 3% IBU: 10

Description: A kettle soured, pale German wheat beer with clean lactic sourness. It is a refreshing beer with tartness and fruity character. The style is from Berlin, Germany and lovingly nicknamed, “The Champagne of the North.” It is traditionally served with raspberry or woodruff syrup. We serve ours with a number of different options of flavors: Blood Orange, Blue Raspberry, Tart Cherry, Hawaiian Island, Mango, Mojiito, Pomegranate, or Strawberry. Choose one flavor or no flavor- it tastes delicious on its own as well! 

Sweet Summer Rain- American Blonde Ale

Description: A traditional, refreshing American Blonde Ale with a punch of strawberry flavor. Brewed with fresh, local strawberries from Reese’s Farm in Halifax County, Virginia. We make this once a year when strawberries are in season! We named it after a quote from Ethan’s favorite movie- “O Brother Where Art Thou?”

Baba Yaga- Imperial Chocolate Stout

ABV: 9.7% IBU: 40

Description: A rich, full bodied beer with intense notes of cocoa, caramel, and roasted malt. This decadent beer finishes velvety smooth with a kiss of chocolate. The beer is named for a character in Scandinavian culture that is an old witch that lives in a shack. 

Wesley’s Walkabout- American IPA 

ABV: 6.8 % IBU: 60

Description: A classic American IPA, golden in color, and a medium body. It is brewed with Enigma hops, which brings out characteristics of tropical fruit and citrus. 

ALLY Ale- Cream Ale

ABV: 5.5% IBU: 14

Description: A classic cream ale, very similar to our Craghead Cream Ale. This beer was brewed in celebration of The Arc of Southside’s 70th Anniversary Celebration. ALLY stands for “A Life Like Yours.” 

Revelry Saison- Belgian Style Saison

Description: A light-medium-bodied Belgian Saison featuring Australian Topaz hops. A fruity, peppery, and refreshing beer with notes of lychee and clementines. 

Cunning Folk- Dry Irish Stout

Description: A traditional, well attenuated dry Irish Stout served on a nitrogen tap to produce velvety, creamy finish.

Duke’s on Sunday- American IPA

Description: A tribute to our friend Brigid Layman at Factory Street Brewery in collaboration with members of  the Sovah Beer Trail. A portion of the sales were donated to The American Diabetes Association. The beer is modeled after Brigid’s favorite beer, Lunch, an IPA made by Maine Beer Company. 

Panama Pilsner- American Lager

Description: An American light lager brewed with rice and corn to create a crisp, dry, light bodied beer. This was brewed for our 4/40: Van Halen Tribute Show on October 5, 2024.
